Universal Orlando Resort Announces Its 2026 Military Freedom Pass – More Than a Year of Fun for One Low Price
Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced its 2026 Military Freedom Pass, and it’s another huge win for eligible U.S. military families.
The 2026 Freedom Pass works like an unlimited-use ticket that you can use again and again throughout the offer period—almost like a Universal annual pass, but without the usual Annual Pass extras like free parking or in-park food and merchandise discounts.
For 2026, eligible service members can choose between a 2-Park or 3-Park Military Freedom Pass valid for Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and, with the 3-Park option, Universal Volcano Bay. Passes are valid from November 13, 2025 through December 18, 2026, with limited blockout dates.
If you’re trying to decide whether the Freedom Pass is the right option for your trip, see our guide: Which Universal Orlando Military Ticket Is Best?
Updated March 2026

On top of that, Universal is offering specially priced 1-Day Universal Epic Universe tickets exclusively for guests who have an activated 2026 Military Freedom Pass, plus military vacation packages and hotel deals that can save qualifying guests up to 40% at select Universal Orlando hotels.
Current Status of the Universal Orlando Military Freedom Pass
The 2026 Universal Orlando Military Freedom Pass is currently the latest version of this popular military ticket program.
Universal typically announces the next year’s Freedom Pass sometime in the fall. Based on past announcement patterns, the 2027 Freedom Pass is expected to be announced in fall 2026.

What’s New for the 2026 Military Freedom Pass?
Here’s a quick look at the biggest changes for 2026 compared to 2025:
- New valid dates: The 2026 Freedom Pass is valid for admission from November 13, 2025 through December 18, 2026, once activated.
- Slight price increase:
- 2-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass: $220 Adult / $215 Child
- 3-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass: $255 Adult / $250 Child
- Updated blockout dates:
- All passes are blocked December 25, 2025 – January 4, 2026 and March 30, 2026 – April 6, 2026.
- The 3-Park pass has an additional blockout for Volcano Bay only from October 26, 2026 to December 18, 2026.
- Epic Universe access: 2026 continues the option to buy specially priced 1-Day Epic Universe tickets, but these are available only to guests who already have an activated 2026 Military Freedom Pass.
The core idea hasn’t changed: for many military families, this is still one of the best-value theme park ticket deals anywhere.

2026 Freedom Pass Details
Offer Dates & Validity
Tickets available for purchase:
November 13, 2025 – December 18, 2026
Valid for park admission:
Through and including December 18, 2026, subject to blockout dates.
Blockout Dates for 2026
2-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass blockout dates:
- December 25, 2025 – January 4, 2026
- March 30, 2026 – April 6, 2026
3-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass blockout dates:
- December 25, 2025 – January 4, 2026
- March 30, 2026 – April 6, 2026
- October 26, 2026 – December 18, 2026 (Volcano Bay only)
Note: The last two years, Universal Orlando removed its spring blockout dates well in advance. That could happen again, but there is no guarantee.
If your family is planning a 2026 trip, pay special attention to that late October through mid-December Volcano Bay blockout on the 3-Park pass. It doesn’t affect the two main theme parks, but it does matter if water park time is part of your plan.
2026 Freedom Pass Types
Just like in previous years, there are two versions of the Freedom Pass: a 2-Park and a 3-Park option. Both are Park-to-Park, meaning you can move between the included parks on the same day.
2-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass
The 2-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass allows same-day admission to:
- Universal Studios Florida
- Universal Islands of Adventure
This is the classic option for families focused on Universal’s two main theme parks.
3-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass
The 3-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass allows same-day admission to:
- Universal Studios Florida
- Universal Islands of Adventure
- Universal Volcano Bay
You can visit all three parks on the same day when Volcano Bay is not blocked out.
2026 Freedom Pass Prices
For 2026, Universal has nudged prices up slightly, but the pass still offers excellent per-day value if you’ll use it more than a few days.
- 2-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass
$220 Adult
$215 Child (ages 3–9) - 3-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass
$255 Adult
$250 Child (ages 3–9)
Because these passes can be used again and again across more than a year of valid dates, the effective daily price can become extremely low compared to regular military tickets or gate pricing.
Who Is Eligible for the 2026 Freedom Pass?

Universal is very specific about who is and is not eligible for this offer.
Eligible guests include:
- Active Duty members of the U.S. Armed Forces
- Reservists
- National Guard
- Retired members of the U.S. Military
- 100% Disabled Veterans with a qualifying military ID
- Spouses of the above with a qualifying military ID
- Current Department of Defense Civilian personnel with a valid qualifying DEERS-issued photo ID
Not eligible to purchase:
- NOAA
- U.S. Public Health Service
- Department of Homeland Security
- Divorced spouses
- Child dependents
- Contractors
- Foreign affiliates
- DoD Civilian (Retired)
- Veterans who are not retired and not 100% disabled
As always, Freedom Pass eligibility is different from some other Disney and Universal military offers. If you fall into one of the edge-case categories, double-check my main Universal Orlando Military Discount Eligibility page and the official Universal wording for your exact situation.
How Many 2026 Freedom Passes Can You Buy?
Each Eligible Military Member and/or spouse can:
- Exchange a maximum of six (6) 2026 Military Freedom Passes
- Use one of those six passes themselves
Tickets are non-transferable and must always be used by the same person.
If you don’t buy all six at once, you may later return to the same military ticket office where you made the original purchase to buy the remaining passes, up to the six-pass limit. You’ll need your original 2026 Freedom Pass and valid ID again.

Where and How to Buy the 2026 Military Freedom Pass
The 2026 Freedom Pass is not sold at the Universal Orlando front gate or online.
You can only buy these tickets through authorized Military Ticket & Travel Offices, including:
- Your Base Ticket Office / ITT
- Shades of Green ticket office, when they carry the offer
- Other authorized military sales outlets
When you buy, you receive Universal Orlando Military Promotional Tickets that must be exchanged at:
- Universal’s Front Gate Ticket or Guest Services windows, or
- A Universal Vacation Planning / Destination Universal desk at an on-site or partner hotel
For the exchange, an Eligible Military Member with valid qualifying ID must be present for the entire order.
How to Use Your 2026 Freedom Pass
Once you’ve bought your promotional vouchers, the process is simple:
- Verify your eligibility
- Choose your 2-Park or 3-Park pass
- Buy the promotional tickets at an authorized military ticket office
- Exchange those vouchers at Universal with valid ID
- Use the activated pass as often as you like during valid dates, outside blockouts

Important: The 2026 Freedom Pass Is Not an Annual Pass
Universal explicitly states that the 2026 Military Freedom Pass is not a Universal Orlando Annual Pass.
That means Freedom Pass holders are generally not entitled to:
- Free or discounted parking
- Food or merchandise discounts
- Annual Passholder lounges
- Special AP events or bonuses
- Built-in Early Park Admission, unless received through a hotel or package benefit
The Freedom Pass is all about deeply discounted admission. If you’re local and will pay for parking every time, or if you really want Annual Passholder perks, compare the math before you buy.
Freedom Pass vs. Regular Military Tickets
One of the biggest questions military families have is whether the Freedom Pass is actually the best deal. The answer depends on how long you’re visiting and whether you expect to come back again during the valid period.
| Feature | Freedom Pass | Regular Military Tickets |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Longer trips or multiple visits | Shorter one-time vacations |
| Park access | Unlimited during valid dates | Fixed number of days |
| Pricing style | One upfront ticket price | Varies by number of days and ticket type |
| Epic Universe | Separate 1-day add-on only | Available through special ticket options |
| AP-style perks | No | No |
For many families taking a 5- to 10-day vacation, the Freedom Pass can be the cheaper choice. For a shorter 2- or 3-day trip, regular military tickets may still win.
Freedom Pass vs. Universal Annual Pass
The Freedom Pass and a regular Universal Annual Pass can look similar at first glance, but they are built for two different goals.
A Universal Annual Pass may make more sense if you want perks like parking discounts, dining discounts, merchandise discounts, and other Annual Passholder extras. The Freedom Pass is usually the better value when your top priority is simply getting into the parks for the lowest possible cost.
If you’re flying in, staying on-site, and using Universal transportation, the lack of parking benefits on the Freedom Pass often won’t matter much. In that situation, the Freedom Pass is usually the simpler and cheaper play.
Is the 2026 Freedom Pass Worth It?
For a lot of military families, yes.
The Freedom Pass is usually a home run for:
- Families visiting for one long 5–10 day trip
- Families planning two or more shorter trips during the valid period
- Guests who fly in, stay at a Universal hotel, and use resort transportation instead of paying for parking
You may want to run the numbers more carefully if:
- You live locally and will pay daily parking each visit
- You want to rely heavily on Annual Passholder discounts and perks
- You’re only planning a very short trip
Example Cost: Is the Freedom Pass Cheaper?
Let’s say a family of four is planning a five-day Universal Orlando vacation and expects to spend most of those days in the parks. In that scenario, the Freedom Pass often comes out ahead because the per-day cost gets spread across more park time.
That advantage grows even more if your family expects to return later in the year, or if you want the flexibility to revisit favorite parks without worrying about burning through a fixed number of days.
If your trip is shorter, regular military tickets may still be the better buy. But once you start moving into longer itineraries, the Freedom Pass usually becomes much harder to beat.
Epic Universe: Special 1-Day Tickets for 2026 Freedom Pass Holders
Universal Epic Universe is Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, and for 2026, Universal is offering special 1-Day Epic Universe tickets that are only available if you already have an activated 2026 Military Freedom Pass.
Here’s how the 1-Day Epic Universe add-on works for 2026:
- You must have an activated 2-Park or 3-Park 2026 Military Freedom Pass
- Add-on tickets are date-specific and limited in quantity
- The add-on is tied directly to your Freedom Pass
- Prices and availability vary by date
- You may buy add-on tickets for multiple dates, but only one add-on ticket per date per Freedom Pass
- Each purchase transaction is limited to six tickets
These tickets are a nice way to add a one-day Epic Universe splurge on top of the year-long value of the Freedom Pass.

Is the 2026 Freedom Pass Right for Your Family?
The Freedom Pass can be an outstanding value, but it is not automatically the right ticket for every situation.
If your family wants a longer Universal vacation, flexibility to revisit the parks, or perhaps more than one trip during the offer period, it is often the best option. If you’re only planning a short visit, regular military tickets may still be the better choice.
For many military families, though, this is still one of the strongest theme park ticket deals available.
