Universal’s Orlando Resort’s SuperStar Shuttle

I love Universal’s SuperStar Shuttle, Universal’s Orlando’s bus service between the Orlando International Airport and your Universal Hotel.

Universal’s SuperStar Shuttle is a service that Universal provides exclusively to those staying in Universal Owned Hotels.

You can add it as part of your vacation package.

How to Find the SuperStar Shuttle

When you arrive at your airline arrival gate at the Orlando International Airport, follow the signs for baggage claim.

Orlando International Airport Directions to Baggage Claim

You’ll board an elevated subway like train which will take you to the main terminal.  Once you pass out of the secure area you’ll enter a large atrium. You will be on level 3 of the airport. Baggage claim is on level 2 and transportation is on level 1.

See our Guide to Orlando International Airport

NOTE: The SuperStar Shuttle does not service the Orlando Sanford International Airport! There is an airport that calls itself “Orlando” Sanford International Airport. It is not in Orlando, rather it is in Sanford, FL which is 40 to 45 miles from the Universal Orlando Resort, do not be fooled. Several cut-rate airlines fly in there a couple days a week.

There are 2 “Terminals” at the airport A & B. They are in the same building on opposite sides of the central atrium area. Each has its own baggage claim area and transportation areas. Continue to follow the baggage claim signs to your Baggage Claim area (either A or B). You’ll go down the escalator to level 2.

Universal’s SuperStar Shuttle is on the A side. So if you are picking up your bags on the B side, after getting your bags you’ll go back up to level 3 and cross over to the A Side.

If your baggage area is on the A side or you only have carryon proceed to the level 1 transportation area on the A side.

When You arrive on the first floor You’ll then see a large number of rental car company counters against on ewall. The SuperStar Shuttle counter is at the far left end.

This counter will be staffed for flights arriving between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. If your flight is arriving before 7:00 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m. you will receive advance instructions on how to catch the SuperStar Shuttle. (Hours of Operation May Vary).

The instructions that you’ll receive for after hours are: to head out to the bus loading area and go to spots 19-21, which are the SuperStar Shuttle spots. Buses come by every 20 minutes. You can also call SuperStar Shuttle at 407-254-0299, your call will automatically go into holding for a live person, be prepared, any time that I have called there has been a 10-15 minute wait until a person came on the line.

Riding the SuperStar Shuttle

Once you are there step up to the counter to check in. They will look up your reservation, and present you with a welcome folder. This contains return pickup information.

Once checked in, you’ll be directed to the shuttle waiting area, which is outdoors.

You’ll see a SuperStar Shuttle podium. Tell the person there your destination hotel and have a seat or stand to wait. You could wait up to 20 minutes.

Depending on the load, you’ll ride in a large bus or shuttle van.

If the bus is there or after it pulls up, the driver will ask you where you are going and take your luggage to stow in the luggage compartment. Then just hop on the bus and have a seat.

It is about a 20 minute drive to the Universal Orlando property. Once on property, the bus will stop at the hotels required based on those on board. Your’s might not be the first stop.

Your bus should have charging stations at each seat (they don’t always work) and a bathroom if needed.

Once the bus arrives at your hotel just hop off and the driver will get your bags for you. Tipping is encouraged.

Your Return Home

Your pickup on your departure day will be right where you were dropped off.

You’ll have received your pickup time when you checked in on arrival. There will also be a phone number in your package that you can call in case of changes or issues. The number is: 407-254-0299, your call will automatically go into holding for a live person, be prepared, any time that I have called there has been a 10-15 minute wait until a person came on the line.

Your pick up instructions will state that due to possible traffic your driver might be a little late. They say to call (407-254-0299) if the driver is 15 minutes late, I recommend calling if they are 5 minutes late, due to the 10-15 minute hold time to get a person on the line (you can always hang up when they arrive).

The reverse trip will be very similar to your arrival. A bus ar van will arrive to take you to the airport.

Your driver will put your luggage on the bus or van and take it off after arrival at the airport.

If you are on a bus you will be arriving on Level 1 of the airport. Just take the escalators or elevator to Level 1 to check in at your airline counter. If you are on a van your driver may drop you off on level 3 by your airline check in, or at the main level 1 area.
