New for 2021 – Universal Orlando has introduced their Freedom Pass, a year-long pass for one low price!
For 2021 Universal is calling their Special Military Tickets – Freedom Passes.

That’s because they are like a Universal Annual Pass (without the other benefits Universal adds to regular annual passes, like parking and discounts).
These Passes are Amazing!

Pass Rules
The eligible person must present a valid Military ID at time of voucher purchase and when exchanging the voucher at the Universal sales window.
- Limit 6 Passes during program period
- Only one single activation is allowed during this offer. This is because the member must be activating their own Freedom Pass when activating for others. Example – I you have friends that will be going with you only later in the year, you need to get and activate passes for them during your original activation.
- You may make multiple purchases up to the limit, but only the single activation. Once you’ve activated the member’s ticket you are done.
- Passes must be used by the same person on any and all days (Non-Transferable)
- Passes will arrive UNACTIVATED
- Passes will be ACTIVATED at any Universal Pass Sales window with a valid ID presented by the military member or military spouse; military member or spouse MUST accompany the party to the Pass Sales window for first activation of the Passes, and use one of the tickets; Dependent children CANNOT activate Passes on their own. Ticket locations in Universal’s Hotels are not owned by Universal and you can not activate these passes there.
- Passes are not valid after 31 December 2021
- This offer is not valid at Universal Studios Hollywood
There seems to be a lot of confusion about these passes on Facebook when I’ve shared this post. So in a effort to be absolutely clear:
These Freedom Passes are like an annual pass, without the other benefits that usually go with an AP, like free parking and discounts.
You only pay the price once, not every visit or every so often.
How to Buy Freedom Passes
Freedom Passes can only be purchased at your Base Ticket Office or as part of a Military Discounted Package through your Travel Agent.
When you purchase tickets/passes as part of a package they are protected because if you change or cancel your reservations, the whole package is refunded.

Does a 100% disabled veteran really qualify for this offer? Universal Studios Orlando website, Shades of Green, or MWR do not specifically indicate that 100% disabled veteran qualify. This is the only site where it is mentioned.
Hi Allen,
Yes 100% DAVPRM do qualify with a military ID stating DAVPRM on it.
100% DAVTMP do not
The VA does NOT DAVPRM on them. I know this, as I am 100% DAV from a RPG. I will print a letter from the VA which shows that I am actually 190% disabled.
Yes they do
Is the freedom pass good for holiday events?
Hi Stephanie,
No it’s valid during normal operating hours. Extra cost events require a ticket for that event.
The VA does NOT have DAVPRM on them. I know this, as I am 100% DAV from a RPG. I will print a letter from the VA which shows that I am actually 190% disabled.
Do these passes include free parking at the parks?
No, sorry they do not Tim. No extras, just admittance every day.
If I buy 6 freedom passes and activate all of them and use mine the day of activation, do I need to provide any names for people who will use the other five passes? Now that they are activated, do I just give the passes to the other individuals and no other validation or information will required when they enter the parks?
Yes, no names required, and no ID check later.
Oh my word I am stressing. So after activating my pass in April I have lost it! We are in Florida and wanted to use our passes tomorrow. Does anyone know how I and if I can still get in?
Do you have a pic of the back of it on your phone Mindy?
That would be how.
So, I just wanted to confirm. My husband and I will purchase 6 tickets each for our family. We are going with the first group next week and will both be there to activate all 12 tickets and enjoy the park with that group.
The next family is going when my husband is out of country. I will be there. Is there a problem with him not being there and can they enter if they arrive before I do? Do they just use the qr code?
I just want to confirm that they can enter without him if they from one of his 6 tickets. When I called Universal they said the military member needed to be there.
Thank you,
Kathy
Hi Kathy,
I’ve queried the Universal Orlando Military Sales Manager.
Hi Kathy,
Direct from Universal: “The military sponsor, whether member or spouse MUST be with their guests on their first day of use of the 2022 Military Freedom Pass tickets as they will need to walk them through the turnstile with military ID. These tickets are not for gifting.”
My husband passed away in October and was 100% Permanent disabled. We never received a military ID but I do have his VA health card and proof of his 100% permanent disability. Will that be sufficient to be eligible?
Hi Donna,
Not that I’m aware of. Universal and Disney are looking for military issued IDs.
